MATTER

The human body, although fragile, is a complicated machinery in many ways. Its evolution with internal and/or external incidents can have a strong impact during our lifetime. Bodies go through different stages and transformations, either physically or mentally, defining the person that we are. “Matter” is a response to those experiences of loss and detachment that our physical body goes through. It represents a feeling of fragmentation, an extracted piece that no longer is part of the body and becomes something strange: a mutation.

Inspired by one of the stories with the same name of the book “Invisible Cities” by Italo Calvino, Armilla reflects the psychological effect that spaces tend to have around us, our perception of the world, and the way we identify with it.
